Mr Hollande presented Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Briton Chris Norman with the Legion d'honneur at the Elysee Palace on August 24. Another unnamed passenger and Mark Moogalian, 51, a French-American academic, who is in a hospital recovering from a gunshot wound, will receive the honour at a later date.
Mr. Hollande said the whole world admires the courage of the men, who put their lives at risk to save lives.
French authorities are questioning the suspect, 25-year-old Moroccan Ayoub El-Khazzani, who has denied the accusation he was attempting to conduct a terror attack.
