People’s Council to promote democracy with more open, transparent and closer to people approach
(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has asked the northern province of Phu Tho to continue the implementation of Party resolutions to boost socio-economic development and attract investment in infrastructure while ensuring cultural identities preservation.

Addressing the fourth session of the provincial People’s Council on Wednesday, the Chairman hailed the importance of the People’s Council mechanism in realizing democracy for a State of the people, by the people and for the people consistently selected by the Party over the past century.
“The provincial Party organizations, authorities, voters and people should have a comprehensive awareness of the role and functions of the People’s Council to continuously renovate their operations for improved efficiency, modern, professional and effective outputs, while enhancing the quality of supervision activities, fostering coordination with the National Assembly deputies to strengthen social monitoring and criticism, and showing more active engagement in the legislative body’s supervision programme for democracy promotion, more open and transparent operation and closer to the people,” Chairman Hue said.
