Working with PVN on ways to accelerate its major projects, Prime Minister Chinh said the group must focus on ensuring safe and effective operation of oil and gas facilities, striving to fulfill this year’s targets, increasing oil and gas exploration  and exploitation, and ironing out current difficulties.

PVN should be financially sound and globally competitive, he noted.

In 2021, Petrovietnam was named  among three biggest companies in Vietnam behind Samsung Vietnam and Vietnam Electricity (EVN), according to the VNR500 rankings unveiled by Vietnam Report JSC.

In the first half of this year, the company pumped nearly 5.5 million tonnes of crude oil, surpassing the set target by 23%.
