(VOVworld)- A photo exhibition entitled “Hoang Sa archipelago- Vietnam’s sovereignty” has opened in Da Nang city. The event was held by  Da Nang’s Department of Foreign Affairs and the People’s Committee of Hoang Sa island district. On display are over 70 photos, documents and objects affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa or the Paracel archipelago. They include a map of Vietnam issued in 1838 by France, and a map of the unified Vietnam under King Minh Mang’s reign from 1820 to 1841. Tran Tien Phat, a student of Da Nang Politechnology University, is a visitor: “Maps and other items on display at this exhibition provide clear evidence that the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes belong to Vietnam. Through the exhibition, I think that my friends and I should have become more aware of defending the sovereignty of our national seas and islands”.
