This has been the second group of foreign tourists to Vietnam since the country piloted the vaccine passport program last month.

All the tourists have been fully vaccinated or have certificates showing they have recovered from COVID and tested negative for the novel coronavirus within 72 hours before departure.

They will stay for nine days and eight nights in destinations under the Vinpearl Resort system.

The number of domestic and foreign visitors to Kien Giang province is expected to rise sharply from now until February next year, especially during the New Year and traditional Lunar New Year holidays.

Since the beginning of November, Kien Giang has received more than 317,000 tourists including 1,400 foreigners. Most of them visited Phu Quoc Island.
