(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung visited and congratulated doctors at Bach Mai hospital on Vietnamese Physicians’ Day in Hanoi on Tuesday.

He said that the party and state acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and achievements of the healthcare sector. He said: “The healthcare sector should continue to improve preventive medicine, grassroots services and maintain their medical ethics while reducing hospital overload. Medical workers should continue to be upright and moral to better serve the people.”

President Truong Tan Sang has signed a decision to confer the title of People’s Physician to 67 medical workers and the title of Emeritus Physician to more than 1000 others. 

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education Dinh The Huynh visited the Hanoi Medical University the same day. He asked teachers and students to enhance the university’s glorious tradition and to make it the leading medical training center in Vietnam. He said: “The Hanoi Medical University has the best medical professors and doctors in the country. Medical care quality is the measurement of training quality. I hope that the University’s party committee and staff will remain united and develop further.”

Huynh also visited doctors of the Vietnam National Hospital of Acupuncture and the National Cancer Hospital.
