The session on promoting connectivity to seek new growth drivers was chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The leaders discussed cooperation activities within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. In his address, President Xi said the Belt and Road Initiative focused on promoting infrastructure connectivity and cooperation and smart production in the digital economy. The second and third sessions of the BRF were held the same day discussing ways to strengthen partnership and realize the 2030 Agenda of the UN. At the end of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on Saturday, a Joint Statement of the leaders’ roundtable meeting is expected to be released.
