Mr. Phuc’s first official visit to Singapore as the leader of the Vietnamese government takes place when the two countries are celebrating 45 years of diplomatic ties and five years of Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Phuc will pay a courtesy call to Singaporean President Halimah Yacob, held talks with his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong, and witness the signing of cooperation documents between the two countries.

The upcoming summit will be the first ASEAN Summit in 2018 as Singapore takes over the bloc’s rotating chairmanship.

Under the theme of “Resilient and Innovative ASEAN”, regional leaders are scheduled to deliberate directions and measures to step up cooperation, enhance connectivity to boost ASEAN’s self-resilience and its ability to respond to challenges and promote innovation-based development.
