PM calls for concretizing Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received in Hanoi on Thursday for Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance and Honorary Chairman of the organizing board of the ninth Japan-Vietnam Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh praised the good results of cooperation between the two countries in 2023, the year celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan and a historic milestone with the upgrade of bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Prime Minister said he hopes that Takebe will continue to contribute to concretizing this partnership with specific projects and programs in education and tourism, bolster investment, trade and tourism cooperation between localities, as well as cultural connection and people-to-people exchange activities.

PM Chinh stressed the need to promote cooperation in human resource training between the two countries and improve working conditions, labor, and quality of life for Vietnamese apprentices and workers working in Japan.

He requested the Japanese side to consider new generation ODA provision to soon launch the railway project from Hanoi center to Hoa Lac High-Tech Park and strengthen projects within the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

Takebe promised to continue to support cooperation with Vietnam, especially in areas with much potential for cooperation that the Prime Minister mentioned and actively contribute to developing the relationship between the two countries.
