(VOVworld)- Addressing people’s concerns, petitions, denunciations, and complaints is a regular and important political task of party cells and authorities at all levels, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at a national online conference on the issue today/Wednesday in Hanoi.

70% of petitions relate to land clearance issues

Mr. Dung said: "Listening to people’s wishes and complaints as well as dealing with their petitions is of great importance to party committees and authorities at all levels. We should spare no efforts to solve 528 pending cases of petitions and complaints in accordance with socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization, infrastructure upgradation, and urban development. During land clearance for construction to serve such developments, it’s necessary to have appropriate plans to avoid petitions from people as statistics show that 70% of petitions relate to land clearance issues."

The Prime Minister has asked participating leaders from provincial and municipal people’s committees to assess the situations and analyze the causes of petition cases in different localities. He urged these localities to propose solutions to address all pending cases related to petitions and complaints while ensuring every benefit of the people in harmony with the country’s development goals. Competent authorities and agencies have so far addressed 88% of all cases of complaint and 84% of all cases of denunciation.
