At a meeting in Hanoi on Sunday, Mr. Phuc congratulated the Vietnamese athletes competing at SEA Games 30 on their excellent performance at the region’s biggest sporting event.

“We even achieved encouraging results in some sports which were introduced to Vietnam lately. Some athletes refused to give up despite sustaining serious injuries during the competition. Their strong will touched the hearts of the entire Vietnamese people,” said PM Phuc.

Vietnam finished second at SEA Games 30 with 288 medals including 98 golds, surpassing the set target. This is the first time both the men’s and women’s football teams won the gold medal.
