PM chairs 10th meeting of steering committee for streamlining government apparatus

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to work on making the government apparatus lean and mean coupled with improving the quality of civil servants.

At the 10th meeting of steering committee for streamlining government apparatus in Hanoi on Monday, participants heard reports on the progress of summarizing Resolution 18 and implementing the Politburo's Conclusion Notice on the plan to rearrange and streamline the Government's organizational apparatus. They also heard a report on the progress of reorganizing the inspection agency system in an  effective and efficient way.

After streamlining the organizational apparatus of the 15th Government for the 2021-2026 term, there will be 14 ministries and three ministerial-level agencies, a reduction of five ministries and ministerial-level agencies, equivalent to a reduction of 22.7%.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh requested the Steering Committee members to promote a sense of responsibility, listen to the opinions of ministries, sectors and individuals, focus on implementation, and ensure progress and quality.
