(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday urged HCM city authorities to prevent cross infection in quarantine facilities and take better care of the material and emotional life of people in quarantine.

PM Chinh was speaking during a visit to HCM city on Saturday to inspect COVID-19 prevention and control in Vietnam’s largest metropolis.
During the fact-finding tour, Mr. Chinh visited a quarantine facility at Vietnam National University, the Nissei Electric Vietnam company, and the Nanogen Vietnam company, which is developing a COVID-19 vaccine.
The PM also discussed with municipal leaders measures to contain the pandemic.
As of Saturday noon, HCM city had recorded nearly 2,500 domestic cases cases, ranking 2nd in the total number of infections in Vietnam, after the northern province of Bac Giang.
It detected an all-time high of 667 COVID-19 cases over a 24-hour period, from 6am Thursday to 6am Friday.
