PM meets Vietnamese community representatives in Cambodia

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday evening talked with staff of Vietnam’s representative agencies and representatives of the businesses and Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

At a meeting in the Vietnamese Embassy, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Party and State always care about the overseas Vietnamese community, considering them an integral part of the great national unity bloc.

He asked overseas Vietnamese to raise the spirit of solidarity, abide by local laws, continue promoting the good traditions of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia, make every effort to contribute to the socio-economic development of the host country, look to the homeland, and cultivate the close relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Prime Minister Chinh expected that the Vietnamese business community will continue to boost their investment and trade cooperation in Cambodia, while optimizing efforts to support overseas Vietnamese.

He suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia make the most of opportunities, potentials and strengths to effectively accomplish tasks, seriously and effectively deliver on the guidelines, policies and laws of the Party and State on foreign affairs and international integration. It’s imperative to continue coordination with Cambodian authorities to live up to the legitimate needs of the Vietnamese community and provide timely support to businesses in Cambodia, he said.
