(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung, President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva on Monday in Malaysia.

During their meeting, PM Chinh and the Korean President agreed to continue to strengthen political trust through high-level delegation exchanges; expand substantive cooperation in defense and security; and enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation.
The two sides also agreed to coordinate more closely on regional and global issues of mutual concern, including Vietnam's support for the Republic of Korea’s success in hosting APEC Summit 2025 and the Korea's support and willingness to share its experiences with Vietnam, who will host the APEC Year 2027.

Meeting with the Indonesian President, both leaders agreed that the upgrading of relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Indonesia in March 2025 was an important milestone, a new step in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Indonesia.
Meeting with the New Zealand Prime Minister, PM Chinh and PM Luxon stressed the need to soon complete and sign the Action Program to implement the Vietnam- New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the period 2025-2030. They agreed to raise the two-way trade turnover to 3 billion USD by 2026.
In a conversation with the IMF Managing Director, Prime Minister Chinh thanked the IMF for its effective cooperation and support for Vietnam, especially in policy assessment and advice. Ms. Georgieva said she will continue to cooperate and support Vietnam in the policy-making process.
