PM Nguyen Tan Dung meets Malaysian PM and Philippine President

(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Monday held bilateral meetings with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Rajak, who is ASEAN Chair in 2015, on the sidelines of the 26th ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

The Vietnamese and Malaysian Prime Ministers agreed to strengthen bilateral friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the near future. The Malaysian Prime Minister said Malaysia would boost cooperation with Vietnam in various areas, and facilitate Vietnamese workers in Malaysia. He urged the two sides to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on recruitment of Vietnamese workers to work in Malaysia in 2015. Prime Minister Dung said Vietnam supported Malaysia’s chairmanship of the ASEAN. On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with the Philippine’s President Benigno Aquino III. The two leaders agreed to improve the quality of their cooperation mechanism, enhance the cooperation of the Bilateral Cooperation Committee at Foreign Ministerial level and work closely to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties,

The two leaders agreed to boost cooperation towards the establishment of the ASEAN Community in 2015 and promote the bloc’s role and unity. They discussed complications in the East Sea, emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, mutual trust, cooperation, ensuring the safety and security of navigation and aviation and the peaceful settlement of territorial disputes in the East Sea in line with international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and Declaration on Conduct of Parties in the East Sea and soon establishing the Code of Conduct in the East Sea.
