(VOVWorld) Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung urged the central province of Binh Dinh to strengthen its commitment to socio-economic development. He made the remarks yesterday during a 2-day visit to help the local authorities work out the implementation of socio-economic tasks for 2012. He asked the province to solve pending problems in agricultural and fishery production while supporting local businesses. Prime Minister Dung said: "Each south central province has its own potentials and advantages. Binh Dinh’s port ranks 3rd in Vietnam that can handle around 6 million tons of goods. This advantage needs to be fully tapped to further attract investment and develop local service industry. Central and local authorities need to work together to develop Binh Dinh port into a regional transport hub."

The Prime Minister called on Binh Dinh province to devise appropriate mechanisms and administrative procedures to attract infrastructure investment from domestic and foreign economic groups.
During the visit, the delegation led by Prime Minister Dung visited staff and soldiers of Regiment 940 and Battalion 372 of the Air Defense Force.
Earlier, Dung laid wreaths and paid tribute to Emperor Quang Trung-(Nguyen Hue) at his Museum in Binh Dinh’s Son Tay district.
