PM Nguyen Tan Dung visits Russia and Belarus

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Sunday led a Vietnamese delegation to visit Russia and Belarus at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev and Belarusian Prime Minister Myasnikovich. The visit to Russia from May 12th to the 15th takes place amid efforts by both countries to foster their comprehensive strategic partnership. Political, economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Russia has been developing steadily in recent years.

After Russia, Prime Minister Dung will visit Belarus until May 17th. The aim of the visit is to bolster bilateral relations, particularly the economic cooperation program until 2015 toward 1 billion USD in two-way trade. Prime Minister Dung will also discuss ways to boost negotiations on a Free Trade Area between Vietnam and the customs alliance between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
