Prime Minister Chinh chaired a national conference to launch healthcare tasks for 2023, where he requested the health sector to focus on building a contingent of qualified, capable and reputable cadres at all levels.

He urged for building and perfecting institutions and policies for the sector to develop quickly and sustainably; continuing to effectively control COVID-19 and other epidemics; and accelerating disbursement of public investment capital in the health sector.

The health sector must effectively implement the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with orientation to 2030, and the National Strategy for Pharmaceutical Industry Development, PM Chinh said.

According to the Ministry of Health’s report, the sector in 2022 successfully implemented the Government's Resolution on "safe and flexible adaption, effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic"; controlled other infectious diseases; took care of people’s health, population, training and development of medical human resources, and digital transformation.

Notably, the health sector achieved and exceeded all three socio-economic targets assigned by the National Assembly in terms of the percentage of doctors, the rate of hospital beds, and the percentage of the population having health insurance.
