Chairing the 13th meeting of the State Steering Committee for key national transport projects, PM Chinh noted that currently, the country has 40 large-scale transport projects and 92 road, railway and aviation component projects crossing 48 centrally-run cities and provinces. Two projects have been completed, spanning 693 km and passing through 15 provinces and cities, raising the total length of highways to more than 2,000 km.

The completed projects are contributing to socio-economic development, creating new development space for localities where the project passes through, forming new urban areas, services, and convenient transportation, generating jobs and livelihoods for people, and developing businesses, he said.

The Prime Minister requested members of the Steering Committee, ministries, sectors and localities, especially investors and contractors, to actively respond to the emulation movement of “500 rush days and nights to successfully finish expressway projects” to celebrate the Party Congress at various levels toward the 14th National Party Congress, and national holidays.
