PM says PPP model should be used for Pleiku-Quy Nhon Expressway
(VOVWORLD) - Gia Lai province has a great potential for rapid, sustainable development, but limited transportation infrastructure is holding it back, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told provincial authorities Tuesday morning.

Mr. Chinh said the Government will help local agencies build the Pleiku-Quy Nhon Expressway, but asked Gia Lai to be more self-reliant and consider a Public-Private Partnership model for the project.
“Gia Lai province is tasked with finding a way to fund the highway from Le Thanh International Border Crossing in Gia Lai to Quy Nhon port in Binh Dinh using the PPP model. Gia Lai will cover the cost of site clearance,” Mr. Chinh said.
According to the government leader, “The central government will be in charge of the rest and will work with the localities involved to find partners. I totally agree that the work should be done as soon as possible. If we use state capital, we will have to wait until after 2030 to get the needed capital, maybe even until 2045. But if we use Public-Private Partnership capital, the province must save the needed investment capital.”
