In his keynote speech, Prime Minister Chinh said that over the past 76 years, the Vietnamese Party, State, and people have never stopped fighting for national independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, self-determination, and the people's right to freedom and happiness. Vietnam is always supportive of peace, equity, and prosperity in the region and the world, as President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology prescribes. According to the Prime Minister, the world is experiencing comprehensive globalization and a rapidly changing landscape. The COVID-19 pandemic in the past two year has turned the world upside down, causing heavy losses and posing continued threats. Vietnam, under its Party’s leadership, is unified in its determination to do whatever it takes to realize the dual goals of pandemic containment and economic recovery.

Prime Minister Chinh said, “Containment of the COVID-19 pandemic is our most urgent task at this moment. Protecting the lives and health of people, including foreigners currently living in Vietnam, is our highest priority. Vietnam is determined to defeat the coronavirus pandemic, whatever it takes. We are trying to obtain as many vaccine doses as possible as soon as possible to vaccinate our people quickly and safely at no charge. The Government stands side by side with enterprises, investors, and foreign partners, promptly removing obstacles they face in order to keep the production chain and global supply chain uninterrupted.”

Prime Minister Chinh took this occasion to thank foreign countries and international organizations for supporting Vietnam in the fight against COVID-19, and for supporting Vietnamese people living and working abroad, which demonstrates the close friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and its international friends.

Mr. Chinh went on to talk about the 13th National Party Congress’s goals for Vietnam until 2025, 2035, and 2045 when it aspires to become a high-income, developed, socialist-oriented country.

He said, “Vietnam’s stability and development are connected with regional and global peace, cooperation, and development. The Vietnamese government always advocates a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, and active, comprehensive, and effective international integration. Vietnam is a good friend, a trustworthy partner, and a responsible member of the international community. Vietnam pursues the peaceful settlement of sea and border disputes with respect for international law and a peaceful, stable environment for rapid, sustainable development. We want to contribute our efforts to addressing traditional and non-traditional security risks and promoting globalization and international integration for a greener, cleaner sustainable world embracing inclusivity and humanity.”

At the meeting, Saadi Salama, Ambassador and Head of the Palestinian Diplomatic Corps to Vietnam, thanked the Vietnamese government for the supportive conditions it has created for foreign diplomats. Salama promised the efforts of his diplomatic corps to expand the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and other countries and organizations toward the shared goals of peace, equity, prosperity, cooperation, and development.
