(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday suggested that the World Economic Forum (WEF) consider Vietnam's proposal to make the Autumn Economic Forum in Vietnam an annual event of WEF, similar to the WEF Dalian/Tianjin, given the success of the autumn event.

At a reception in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday for WEF Managing Director of Stephan Mergenthaler, Prime Minister Chinh thanked the think tank for supporting the construction and operation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
He called for its further support for Vietnam in science and technology, digital transformation and innovation, green transformation and sustainable infrastructure development, human resource development, and start-up and innovation ecosystem to meet the needs of the new era. He also called for WEF’s support in developing Vietnam’s International Financial Centre.
The Prime Minister said that the Vietnamese Government is ready to support connecting WEF with private enterprises, to build a network of WEF business partners in Vietnam.
Mergenthaler highly agreed with the Prime Minister's opinion, and pledged to continue support and cooperation so that Vietnam will be connected more deeply with the WEF network. He expressed his hope to see a greater presence of Vietnamese private enterprises at WEF.
Also on Wednesday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings with Malaysian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Chang Lih Kang and Cambodian Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Hen Vandy.
