PM Chinh and his delegation returned to Hanoi on Thursday after attending the WEF’s 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin.
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son told reporters the PM’s series of bilateral and multilateral meetings helped bolster Vietnam’s global profile.
The Vietnamese delegation took part in 30 activities, including a high-level policy dialogue titled “Vietnam’s New Era: From Vision to Action” with WEF President and CEO Børge Brende. During the session, PM Chinh presented Vietnam as a country “thinking big, acting big, reforming big,” driven by a four-pillar policy focused on science and technology, the private sector, international integration, and legal reform.
Mr. Chinh said Asia has the necessary foundations for maintaining momentum and playing a central role in the global economy. He introduced two initiatives – the “Asian Innovation Network” and the “Asian Innovation Portal” – aimed at strengthening collaboration between regional research institutions and universities, and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
These proposals were hailed for contributing to building an “Asian Century” of peace, stability, development and prosperity, said Deputy PM Son.
