At a regular press conference in Hanoi on Thursday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said the meeting is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Japanese leaders to set forth visions and directions for the development of relations in line with the newly established comprehensive strategic partnership.
PM Pham Minh Chinh will meet high-ranking Japanese leaders, address a dialogue with Japanese businesses and the Vietnam-Japan Economic Forum, meet leaders of top Japanese economic organizations and businesses, and carry out other important activities.
According to Ms. Hang, this year Vietnam and Japan celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
During a recent visit to Japan by President Vo Van Thuong, the two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.
