PM urges for comprehensive digital transformation, quality prioritized

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday chaired a national online conference to review digital transformation performance the first half of 2023 and the Project on population data, electronic identification and authentication until 2025, with a vision to 2030, known as Project 6.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh, who leads the National Committee on Digital Transformation, said digital transformation is an important political task of the Party and State to achieve the ultimate goal of serving people, taking people as the center, actors, goal, driving force and development resource.

He emphasized that building and developing a digital citizen ecosystem must be an important foundation of the nation's digital transformation, an integral part of social and economic life.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh outlined the future key tasks, saying, “Digital transformation is an inevitable requirement. So, it is necessary to push harder to overcome barriers and bottlenecks, and make further breakthroughs because digital transformation brings very practical benefits to the people and the country. We must be drastic in directing, operating, and implementing Project 6, with the motto "national digital transformation is a strategic job, but it must start with specific actions and goals".

The Prime Minister emphasized that this year is the year of "Unlocking data to create new values". He listed the main tasks of digitizing, building, connecting and sharing data; protecting personal data; and using data to better serve people and businesses.  

PM Chinh urged for faster and more sustainable national digital transformation; efficiency of online public service delivery to create the most favorable conditions for people and businesses; and application of the national database on population in combination with the national databases and specialized databases.

The Prime Minister also requested strengthened international cooperation and communication to create social consensus and mobilize resources for national digital transformation and implementation of Project 6.
