(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Southeast Regional Coordination Council, chaired the Council's 3rd conference on Sunday in Tay Ninh province.

The conference discussed implementation of the Southeast Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which just approved by the Prime Minister on Saturday.
According to the Prime Minister, the plan’s approval is important to concretize the vision, viewpoints, and goals in the Regional Development Resolution and national planning for the region. It aims to accelerate the implementation of strategic breakthroughs to maximize the comparative advantage of the region's geo-economic position, promoting the socio-economic development of the whole region and neighboring regions.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Chinh said the southeast region needs to accelerate, make breakthrough, pioneer, and create link practically and effectively. In particular, policy mechanisms must be open, innovative, and modern, strategic infrastructure must rapidly advance to modernity, and management must be smart in accordance with new development trends.
The PM also stressed the need to strengthen three strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure, human resources and institutions as well as maximize the potential and advantages and develop the southeast region into a dynamic economic center of the country.
He requested that people be the center and stakeholders and pointed out the key tasks and solutions to urgently implement regional planning in the spirit of "open policy, clear infrastructure and smart governance."
