During an online conference to cope with one of the strongest storms in 20 years, PM Chinh said urgent action must be taken, including evacuating people at risk with priority given to vulnerable people and stranded tourists.

“People in storm and flood prone areas must be evacuated before the storm makes landfall. Those living in makeshift houses must also be relocated to a safer area.”

The national weather center said that Noru will trigger torrential rains, leading to widespread floods from Quang Binh to Binh Dinh provinces. 9 airports in the central region have been temporarily closed.
