Addressing a national conference in Dak Lak province on Sunday, PM Phuc said that although the flow of migrants has slowed, the most important thing is to stabilize people’s lives, especially ethnic minority groups.

“The Party and State do not encourage free migration. Authorities must improve local infrastructure and living conditions in order to give people a greater attachment to their land, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas. In places where migrants have settled, we need to mobilize all resources to help them stabilize their lives,” Mr. Phuc said.

The Prime Minister set a target of ending free migration by 2025. Mr. Phuc said the Government will issue a decree resolving the issues of free migration and management of forest land.
