The PM made the statement at a national online conference of the education and training sector on Saturday.

He requested the Ministry of Education and Training to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to implement the COVID-19 vaccination program for students.

"Children that have been fully vaccinated can resume school normally along with certain coronavirus control measures, just like how some countries have already been doing, like Singapore," PM Chinh said.
Schools in low-risk areas can resume on-site schooling along with coronavirus restrictions, while schools in high-risk areas should continue with online classes, he said.

Ho Chi Minh City, currently the hardest hit locality by COVID-19 in Vietnam, plans to vaccinate people aged 12-18 from September if there is a suitable vaccine source.

PM Chinh also asked for a reduction or exemption of schools fees for students whose families are hard hit by COVID-19 as well as support for affected teachers, particularly those working for private education establishments.
