The importance of air defense has been in sharp focus for Poland, which borders Ukraine and has seen missiles enter its airspace.

The Polish Prime Minister said there has already been a very positive reaction from the European Commission to making anti-missile air defense a common task for Europe, because it is expensive. He said European countries should stop competing while creating air defense systems and start cooperating.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on social media platform X on Thursday that less fragmentation is needed on things like the air defense shield proposed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Donald Tusk.
