Preparations to mark 60th Dien Bien Phu victory completed
(VOVworld) – The 60
th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory will be celebrated nationwide, covering various activities. At a press conference on Thursday, the event’s organizing board said that this year’s activities aim to highlight Dien Bien Phu Victory’s historical significance, educate the younger generations about patriotism, and call on them to contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and national defense. The anniversary is also an opportunity to introduce people both in and outside Vietnam about the country’s glorious history. The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai spoke at the press briefing:
"The cerebration will be held at national level, not only in Dien Bien province, but across Vietnam. The highlights will include meetings, marches, and cultural and art performances in Dien Bien province."
According to the organizing board, an incense-offering ceremony will be held on May 7th at A1 Hill in Dien Bien Phu City, followed by meetings and marches with the participation of 15,000 people. Earlier, on May 6th, an art performance entitled “Dien Bien Phu- a forever heroic song” will open in the City, and finally a firework display at the city’s central square will wrap up the celebrations.
