President affirms strong ties with Uruguay, Finland, Austria

(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday received Ambassadors of Uruguay, Finland and Austria who came to present their credential letters.

Welcoming Uruguay Ambassador Raul Juan Pollak Giampietro, the President said Vietnam treasures its partnership with the country, saying that Vietnam would open its embassy in Uruguay soon. He called for better access to each market and favorable conditions for the two countries to access the South America Common Market and the ASEAN market.  

Receiving Finnish Ambassador Keijo Ensio Norvanto, the President expected better exploitation from the EVFTA and called for early approval of the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement as well as early removal of the EU yellow card on Vietnamese aqua products. He called for more investment from Finland in high-tech, telecom, renewable energy and the environment.

Receiving Austrian Ambassador Hans-Peter Glanzer, the President called for close cooperation in the 10th session of the Joint Governmental Committee. He asked for the Ambassador’s consultation in vaccine access for Vietnam and the supplies of medical equipment and medicines in the fight against COVID-19.
