President applauds HCM city for taking care of underprivileged people

(VOVWORLD) - President Vo Van Thuong praised Ho Chi Minh city for its effort to maintain stable growth, ensure social security, and take care of disadvantaged people despite many external difficulties last year.

Addressing Friday’s Lunar New Year (Tet) gathering with workers and people living in difficult circumstances in Thu Duc city, as part of his working visit to HCM city, Mr. Thuong said the program is an an effort to ensure a happy Tet for workers.
The gathering is jointly organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

“Many workers from across the country, especially from the Central and Western regions, come to Ho Chi Minh city to work and contribute to municipal development. Therefore, taking care of workers demonstrates the city’s responsibility and affection towards them,” said Mr. Thuong.
