President asks Russia's cooperation in COVID-19 vaccine production in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations, including strengthening cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the letter, President Phuc affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the Vietnam-Russia traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The President congratulated Russia for suppressing the pandemic and success in researching and producing vaccines against COVID-19 and highly appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in COVID-19 response.

President Phuc also thanked President Putin and Russia for donating 1,000 doses of vaccines and medical supplies to Vietnam. He suggested that the Russian side support and facilitate Vietnam to soon access Russian vaccine sources, as well as cooperate in vaccine production in Vietnam.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people on the occasion of Russia Day, June 12.
