President Ho Chi Minh’s 132nd birthday commemorated

(VOVWORLD) - Various activities are being held in celebration of the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and 111 years since he left Vietnam seeking national salvation (July 5).

Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen led a delegation to offer incense at the Ho Chi Minh Museum and President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park.

An exhibition entitled “Following in President Ho Chi Minh’s footsteps” opened at the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, displaying documents and images of the great leader’s life and revolutionary career, including his 30-year overseas journey to seek ways for national salvation. The program also includes exchanges and seminars introducing works about President Ho Chi Minh and map of his journey. The program runs until May 22.

The Lotus Village Festival opened on Tuesday in Lotus village, the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Ta Quang Dong, said: “The Lotus Village Festival is an important cultural event in society. It’s an opportunity for Vietnamese people to show their respect and endless gratitude for President Ho Chi Minh. The Festival can help visitors learn more about his revolutionary life and promote the drive to study and follow his morality and style. The entire Party and people will clearly realize their responsibility in upholding patriotism, the morality of respecting the source of water we drink, building great national unity, and striving for the cause of prosperous people, strong country, and fair, democratic, and civilized society.”
