President hopes for stronger partnership between Vietnamese, Japanese localities

(VOVWORLD) -President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday spoke highly of Japan's Niigata prefecture and its Governor’s determination, effort, and initiatives to promote cooperation with Vietnam over the years, and called for continued cooperation in economy, trade, and investment.

At a reception in Hanoi on Thursday for Niigata Governor Hanazumi Hideyo, President Phuc said he hopes Niigata will invest more in agriculture, manufacturing, support industries, electronic production, and food processing in Vietnam, while continuing to implement agreements with Vietnamese localities. Vietnam is ready to create optimal conditions for businesses from Niigata to invest successfully in Vietnam.

Mr. Hideyo highlighted the important role of cooperation between localities in the overall ties between Vietnam and Japan, affirming that Japanese localities are interested in promoting exchange with their Vietnamese peers, especially in economy, trade, and human resources training.
