President pays tribute to heroic martyrs in Dien Bien

(VOVWORLD) -President Nguyen Xuan Phuc offered incense, paying tribute to the heroes and martyrs at the National Martyrs Cemetery A1 and visited the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum during his trip to Dien Bien province on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Writing a scrapbook at the Museum, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his admiration for the patriotism and sacrifices of Dien Bien heroes and martyrs. He wished that the Museum will continue to collect artifacts and stories that recreate the historic Dien Bien Phu campaign through modern technology, becoming an attractive destination for tourists and a place to educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism and national pride for generations of Vietnamese.

Later on the same day, President Phuc visited and presented 160 gifts to Dien Bien Phu war veterans. He affirmed that the Party and State always pay attention to those with meritorious services to the revolution and contributions to building a rich and strong homeland.

On Wednesday morning, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the inauguration ceremony of the Martyrs' Temple at Dien Bien Phu Battlefield and worked in Dien Bien province.
