Meeting with Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam Cristina Romila in Hanoi on Wednesday, President Phuc said that the EVFTA has initially had positive effects on economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Romania. Bilateral trade turnover in 2022 reached nearly 450 million USD, an increase of more than 15% compared to 2021. The President expected that the two countries will increase their bilateral trade turnover by 10 times.

President Phuc applauded the ambassador's efforts in boosting the two countries' relations with many activities held, including the Vietnam visit by a delegation of the Presidium of the Vietnam-Romania Friendship Parliamentarians and the trip of nearly 30 Romanian University Rectors for the International Education Exhibition. Both sides worked together to successfully organize the Romanian Symphony Orchestra’s performance at the Hanoi Opera House.
