(VOVworld)- On Saturday, President Truong Tan Sang participated in activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Southern Uprising in Long An province.

The President and other delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Southern Uprising Soldiers’ Monument in Duc Hoa Intersection Relic Site, where on July 9, 1941 French colonialists shot dead 11 soldiers. In his address President Sang said:“The Southern Uprising reflected Vietnam’s patriotic tradition and heroism. Sacrifices of soldiers and civilians during the uprising contributed to Vietnam’s great victory in the August Revolution in 1945 and national reunification in 1975”.

A similar event was held in Ba Giong T-Junction in Hoc Mon district, Ho Chi Minh city.
