President Truong Tan Sang holds talks with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang and his delegation arrived in Jakarta on Thursday for their two-day official visit to Indonesia at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The two presidents held talks after state level welcoming ceremony the same day. They hailed continuous development in bilateral ties after 60 years and pledged to raise relations to strategic partnership for mutual benefit, peace, cooperation and development.They agreed to strengthen exchanges of visit at all levels and promote existing cooperative mechanisms. They will add bilateral strategic partnership components to the program of actions by 2015. Indonesia will set up its friendship association with Vietnam shortly and boost  cooperation with its Vietnamese counterpart especially in people exchanges and education on young generation.

Both sides agreed to raise two-way trade turnover to 5 billion dollars by 2015 and 10 billion dollars by 2018. They will promote cooperation in food security, oil and gas, mining and fisheries. They pledged close cooperation in addressing fisherman related issues under a friendship and humanitarian spirit.
They will accelerate the implementation of signed cooperative agreements in anti-crime, defense official cooperation towards an early signing of a joint naval patrol agreement as well as appropriate security and national defense dialogue mechanism.They will boost cooperation in international fora, especially the United Nations and the ASEAN for the building of an ASEAN community by 2015.

Both leaders reiterated the importance of peace, security, maritime freedom and non use of force neither threat to use force in the East Sea. Conflicts shall be resolved by peaceful means on the basis of international law, including UNCLOS and implementation of DOC towards an early adoption of COC.   
They witnessed the signing of cooperative treaties and memoranda of understanding on criminal legal assistance, extradition, agriculture, finance and mining.
