(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang on Monday received new Ambassadors and representatives from international organizations from Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, Iceland, Iran and the EU. Meeting with the new Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehan Rockart, President Sang said Vietnam treasured its ties with Belgium and hoped that two-way trade would surpass the current value of 2 billion USD once the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement takes effect.

Speaking to Finland’s Ambassador Inka Pecka Antero Simila, President Sang said he hoped Finland would help Vietnam to promote green economic growth, environmental sustainable development and natural resources management.

At a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador Beatrice Maser Mallor, the President urged Switzerland to support Vietnam’s bid to become a Non-Permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term and its implementation of SDGs.

Receiving the EU Ambassador Bruno Angelet, Sang expressed his belief that with efforts made by both sides, the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement would be signed later this year.

Sang told Ambassador Saleh Adibi that Vietnam wanted to boost friendship and cooperation with Iceland.
