(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang met visiting Timor Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao in Hanoi on Wednesday. President Sang affirmed that Vietnam always respected its ties with Timor Leste and other countries in Southeast Asia. He expressed his hope that the two sides will soon sign cooperative agreements on investment promotion and protection, and agro-forestry. Sang thanked Timor Leste for supporting Vietnam’s bid to become a member of the UN Human Rights Council in the 2014-2016 term and its stance on  the East Sea issue. Prime Minister Gusmao said Timor Leste wanted to expand cooperation with Vietnam. He expressed his hope that Vietnam would support Timor Leste’s bid to join ASEAN.
