President Thuong was speaking at a working session with representatives from the US-APEC Business Coalition on Wednesday while in San Francisco to attend the APEC Leaders’ Week and bilateral activities.

Representatives from US firms showed an interest in seeking investment opportunities and expanding their business in Vietnam, advised Vietnam to invest more in its airports and digital infrastructure, speed up electronic customs clearance, and strive to achieve digital transformation and one-touch payments.

President Thuong said that, as an attractive investment destination, Vietnam is working hard to improve its investment environment and make it easer for foreign investors, including those from the US, to operate in Vietnam.

He said upgrading Vietnam-US relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership creates opportunities for US businesses to strengthen collaboration with Vietnamese partners.

Vietnam encourages programs and projects to support women and children, and stands ready to listen to new ideas and policy recommendations from US enterprises, he said.
