Press conference on Vietnam-Russia cooperation

(VOVworld)- A press conference on cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in 2015 took place in Hanoi on Monday. Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov said in 2015, leaders of the two countries have increased political dialogue.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev paid an official visit to Vietnam in 2015. President Truong Tan Sang attended the 70th anniversary of Victory over Fascism in Moscow. The Russian Ambassador said the signing of a Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Union including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam in May created a momentum for expanding economic and investment ties between the two nations. Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia reached 2.74 billion USD in the first ten months of 2015. The diplomat urged the two countries to further cooperation between their enterprises and boost people-to-people exchanges in 2016. He said Russia will publish a Collection of Information about Vietnam to further promote Vietnam, and its land and people in Russia. The Ambassador said agriculture should be a priority for Vietnamese-Russian cooperation.
