Addressing the event, Voice of Vietnam Director General Nguyen The Ky stated that VOV must continue to drastically modernize to catch up with the latest media and social trends: “In the current competitive battle between mainstream and non-traditional information, including information by reactionary hostile forces, we will not master the ideological front unless we renovate ourselves. This is a very important task”

The Vietnam Association of Agent Orange Victims on Thursday praised the media’s contribution to its communications on the recovery of Agent Orange/dioxin aftermath and the fight for the victims’ justice. The association chairman, General Nguyen Van Rinh, spoke at the event in Hanoi: “I praise the media agencies’ cooperation with the association in communicating about the disastrous effect of the chemical warfare in Vietnam, its environment and people so that the world community understand the crime by the US. This was largely attributed to the Vietnam’s revolutionary press, especially Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam News Agency.”

To mark the occasion, VAVA presented certificates of merit to dozens of individuals and organizations, including Voice of Vietnam.
