Prime Minister Dung leaves for 23rd ASEAN Summit

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung left Hanoi on Tuesday for the 23rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings which will enhance internal solidarity and promote ASEAN’s role in the regional structure. The events move toward a united and strong ASEAN community for peace, security, stability, cooperation, and development in the region. Vietnam’s participation, at the invitation of Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, will help to elevate its international status.

During the 3-day event, Dung and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott will co-chair an alliance summit against malaria in the Asia-Pacific region. The Prime Minister will also hold bilateral talks with ASEAN leaders and partners to intensify Vietnam’s relations with those countries.
