Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung: Ensure production activities of foreign businesses

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on May 15 issued a notice to ministries, agencies and authorities of centrally-run cities and provinces, asking them to ensure security and order after protests against China caused extensive damage and injuries.

In several localities, protesters had destroyed production facilities including some owned by foreign investors, went against official duty, harming the investment environment and the foreign policies of Party and State. The state leader demanded heavy punishments for people who had provocative actions and violated the law in order to ensure security and the lives and property of people and businesses, especially foreign invested businesses.
He requested them to update diplomatic agencies and foreign investors of the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, and reiterated that Vietnam will do its best to provide assistance and ensure the absolute safety of foreign citizens, companies and agencies working in the country.
