Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung meets French President

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with French President Francois Hollande and Speaker of the French Senate Jean-Pierre Bel on September 25, before leaving France for the US to attend the high-level meeting of the 68th UN General Assembly in New York from September 26 to 28.

President Hollande expressed his belief that the establishment of the Vietnam-France strategic partnership was an important milestone in bilateral cooperation. Prime Minister Dung repeated Vietnam’s unswerving policy of respecting its relations with France and noted that the Vietnam-France strategic partnership illustrated the two countries’ strong determination to elevate bilateral ties in the interests of both peoples.

In a meeting with Speaker of the French Senate Jean-Pierre Bel, Prime Minister Dung said inter-parliamentary cooperation was an important means by which to deepen the Vietnam-France strategic partnership. He praised activities by the French and Vietnamese Friendship Parliamentarian Groups and urged them to boost cooperation based on agreements signed by the two countries’ parliament.

Before leaving Paris and successfully concluding his official visit to France, Prime Minister Dung witnessed a ceremony to hand Airbus planes over to VietJet Air.
