Prime Minister: Patriotism helps Vietnam overcome difficulties

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday called for patriotism, national pride, and the people‘s trust in the Party and State in the context of severe weather, raging COVID-19 pandemic, and global and regional geo-political tensions.

The Prime Minister, who is also Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council, told the Council’s meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday that the situation in the first 6 months this year need a comprehensive assessment on how much the political system worked for the patriotic emulation movement.

He said, “In the emulation movement, there should be no complacency to prevent epidemic from recurring. This is a great responsibility of the political system and sectors. Effort should be made to save the economy from being disrupted, create jobs, and ensure the growth needed for national development. These two requirements should be met simultaneously.”

Prime Minister Phuc agreed with the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s  proposal to launch a number of movements such as all people tightening their belt and saving resources for economic development and overcoming difficulties.
